Assignment/Fixed term contract until 31 March 2014

The role

As an Environmental Monitoring Officer in the Analysis and Reporting Team you'll be part of a team responsible for understanding and reporting on the state of the environment. You'll develop, plan and co-ordinate ecological investigative monitoring work and follow through a number of established Water Framework Directive investigations, reporting on your findings. Initially the role will be biology based with the aim of becoming multifunctional to cover ecology, fish and possibly chemical water quality.

The role is mainly office based with a small amount of field work carrying out specialist surveys and pollution investigations. There will be a significant amount of data analysis and report writing that requires the interpretation of complex data sets. A good understanding of, and experience in using, statistical techniques to analyse data would be an advantage.
