Salary: £19,044 to £24,119 depending on skills and experience (Full Time)

We now have an opportunity for a recently qualified graduate or candidates with post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience to join our team of consultants and researchers.

Essential skills

• A first degree in a numerate scientific discipline or equivalent.
• A willingness to learn new skills and to work flexibly to respond to evolving markets. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organisational and planning skills.
• Full driving licence is essential

Desirable skills/experience

• A postgraduate qualification, or equivalent experience, in a discipline related to water quality, diffuse pollution or environmental modelling.
• Experience of computer programming or statistical modelling to handle large datasets.
• Knowledge of current agri-environment issues, policy initiatives and concerns relating to management of the countryside.
• Experience of business development, writing and costing proposals and project management.

We are looking for a candidate to work in our team at Wolverhampton involved in the evaluation of government policy to manage and protect the environment. The team focuses on modelling the impacts of agriculture on the natural environment, particularly diffuse pollution, and provides statistical and numerical support to other areas of ADAS.

The successful applicant will work within a team that is responsible for the development and application of computer models, at both field and catchment scales, in support of a range of projects focussing primarily on water quality and evaluation of national agri-environment schemes. A willingness to learn the application of statistics or computer programming will be essential. Training and support will be provided to aid the development of the necessary skills.
