Role Overview:
Responsible for the leadership of the environmental program for a chemical complex that includes 2 formaldehyde plants, 6 resin reactors, a spray dry facility, a tall oil fractionation plant and 2 tall oil derivatives reactors. Complex Environmental Manager will serve as the environmental technical resource to the plant in areas including air, hazardous waste, SARA, solid waste and waste water. Maintains the Environmental Management System and participates in environmental audits/ assessments. Develops, implements and monitors environmental strategies, policies and programs.   Reports to the plant manager and will work closely with an environmental specialist and the quality department.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental/ Engineering or related discipline
  • 5 years minimum environmental experience 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Arkansas environmental regulations
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, preferably PSM covered facility
  • Environmental (or technical) leadership role
 
Responsibilities and Expectations:
  • Lead daily environmental activities for the complex which includes formaldehyde production, resin production, and tall oil fractionation and derivatives production
  • Manage compliance with all permits and regulations, including permit applications and interactions with state agencies
  • Assist facility leadership with the development of short and long-term environmental objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks
  • Manage the environmental training program, including the development and implementation of training systems to assure the complex maintains compliance
  • Maintain the Environmental Management System, including change management and lead routing self assessment
