Job Title: Environmental Manager

Deloitte LLP, a leading professional services firm, is expanding its environmental team and a vacancy has arisen for the position of Environmental Manager. The Environmental Manager will be responsible for the definition and delivery of environmental sustainability excellence throughout our business. The post will report to the Director of Environment and Sustainability within the Internal Client Services Division.
The role requires an environmental professional whose key responsibilities will be to:
· Run environmental programmes throughout the firm and ensure the continued certification of our EMS to ISO 14001.
· Lead the identification, definition and implementation of strategies and solutions to deliver best-practice and innovative environment management with particular focus on energy and water reduction, building operations, resource efficiency and sustainable transport;
· Programme manage the delivery of the longer term, corporate environmental strategy including the prioritisation and implementation of environmental sustainability projects;
· Provide leadership to working groups and assistance to internal departments to encourage buy-in and aid delivery of environmental initiatives;
· Drive initiatives that make us a more environmentally sustainable business by influencing behaviour and competence across the business
· Provide ongoing support to, and manage where appropriate, the extensive internal and external stakeholder engagement programme and act as the point-of-contact for all operational sustainability matters; and
· Provide expert benchmarking against our peers and advise on and lead the successful positioning in sustainability indices and awards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate of the highest calibre. Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
· Attained a postgraduate degree in an environmental discipline.
· Hold a professional environmental accreditation, such as IEMA or CIWEM, and hold or be working towards Chartered Environmentalist status
· Have a minimum of 10 years' experience which will include extensive experience of delivering environmental sustainability projects within the services sector.
However, these criteria will not limit our consideration of other exceptional candidates.
Candidates will also be expected to have and be able to demonstrate:
· An operational understanding of environmental sustainability, specifically relating to a large property portfolio in the services sector.
· Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills and first class stakeholder management abilities - you will be engaging with senior partners in the organisation.
· Extensive experience of strategy development and the ability to see risk and opportunity whilst maintaining a commercial focus.
· A flexible and customer orientated approach, able to work as part of a small team with good people management skills.
· Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple projects, including work by consultants and contractors, whilst maintaining a high quality of delivery.
· Ability to analyse and interpret data and transfer that to practical and effective plans and
· Exceptional and effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, covering all levels from junior staff to senior executives, and a solid understanding of corporate environmental sustainability communications gained in a large blue chip.
