This position is with the environment group of Sinclair Knight Merz and the role is to manage Environmental Impact Assessment projects and provide technical review as appropriate. The successful candidate could be based in our Manchester, Newcastle or Edinburgh offices. They will have a background in a technical or planning discipline and experience of power sector projects and be expected to: n Manage environment impact assessments projects n Review environmental input by others n Play a significant role in the development of the practice n Developing beneficial relationships with clients, contractors and team members n Help develop SKM’s position as a ‘Thought Leader’ for specific issues n Act as a mentor to junior staff To be successful in this role the candidate needs to possess: n Appropriate experience in Environmental Impact Assessment n Experience in the power sector is essential n Track record of supporting clients through the planning process n Appropriate professional qualifications plus evidence of self-motivated continuing professional development n Excellent project management skills n Ability to win work in their field of expertise n Competence with Microsoft packages and ability to utilise other project related software n Report writing skills n Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills
