Our client, a leading mining house, currently has several opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join their Africa region, based at the head office in Johannesburg. They currently have a vacancy for an Environmental Hydrogeologist. Job Objectives:Groundwater Risk assessment for each operation¨ Develop and supervise groundwater and surface water monitoring programmes, including site water balances¨ Interpret water monitoring data and identify preventive and corrective management solutions.¨ Develop and update numerical hydrogeological models for flow and mass transport purposes at each operation / business unit.¨ Design of contaminant control strategies¨ Technical input into EIA and EMP’s.¨ Provide Technical input across a broad spectrum of mining water management-related projects. Qualifications and Experience¨ A degree / diploma in Geology / Hydrogeology¨ A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in mine environmental or hydrogeological management¨ Experience in groundwater modeling and modeling software.
