Earthjustice, a non-profit environmental law firm, is now accepting applications for candidates who are interested in applying for an Equal Justice Works Fellowship to work with Earthjustice on a two-year project focusing on issues of environmental health affecting low-income and vulnerable populations.
Earthjustice’s Environmental Health Practice Area is rooted in Earthjustice’s long-standing dedication to defending the right of all people to a healthy environment. The docket includes litigation and advocacy on behalf of farmworkers and communities that are exposed to pesticides, a broad-based coalition of community-based groups fighting for better regulation of toxic chemicals, and residents in overburdened neighborhoods struggling with the impacts of waste from, among other things, industrial agriculture. Our goal is to produce the highest quality legal work on behalf of our clients in a supportive and cooperative environment.
Hosting a Fellow: The Environmental Health Practice Area seeks candidates who are interested in having Earthjustice host a two-year Fellowship, to be located in either our Northeast Office, in downtown Manhattan, or our California office, in San Francisco. If awarded a Fellowship by EJW, the Fellow would work closely with staff attorneys and clients to investigate, develop, and prosecute cases. The Fellow would participate in the full range of tasks involved in complex litigation, including factual investigation, legal research, discovery, briefing, witness preparation, and oral advocacy. The Fellow would pursue the particular project proposed in the Equal Justice Works Fellowship application, with supervision and support from experienced Earthjustice attorneys.

Applicants should have a strong work ethic and sense of initiative, sound yet creative judgment, and an ability to work well in a collegial setting.
