Description

Passionate about our planet?

Want to help make a difference?

Be an Environmental Game-Changer with Friends of the Earth!

Friends of the Earth groups consist of ordinary people who donate some time to improve the environment locally, nationally and internationally. We're active all over the country, probably somewhere near you.

We are looking for 10-15 people of any age with an interest in environmental issues to pilot an activist training programme, starting in May/June in the Midlands.  No prior experience is necessary, but some travel to Birmingham is required.

Our aims: to help you explore the issues, share the skills needed to be an environmental game-changer and enable you to take action with Friends of the Earth.

So, what does it involve?

  • Optional monthly skill-shares in Birmingham on topics such as lobbying and influencing; fundraising; new and traditional media; and much more.
  • Actions to take to put these skills into practice.
  • Taking part in our national campaigns
  • Exploring what’s going on in your community with your local Friends of the Earth group.
  • Online and telephone networking opportunities
  • Support from experienced local group activists and staff.

The programme is modular, so you can take part in the programme as much as you want, as your time allows.

As you attend sessions and take action, you will achieve points towards environmental game-changer status.

So come on board and help make change happen!
