North Wind Inc., an engineering consulting firm, is seeking candidates for a full-time Lead Environmental Engineer/Scientist position based in Idaho Falls, ID.

The position requirements are focused on technical leadership in the field of soils and/or groundwater remediation and include managing and contributing to the development of test plans, sampling plans, work plans, the conduct of field activities, data synthesis, data interpretation, and report writing. A primary function of the position is to build and lead teams in execution of the technical aspects of projects involving innovative soils and/or groundwater clean-up techniques. Responsibilities will include hiring, training, and mentoring technical staff.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a MS/PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Microbiology, Geomicrobiology, or related science with 8-12 years consulting experience. PE or PG/RG registration is a plus. Specific expertise and experience in biological, chemical, or thermal remediation technologies is preferred.

Additional capabilities will include a working understanding of the management and implementation of remediation projects including: preparation of innovative technology implementation strategies with associated development of scope, schedule, and budgets; contract and subcontract oversight; and day-to-day management of project technical scope within schedule and budget. The successful candidate must have experience in marketing and preparation of proposals, be thoroughly familiar with CERCLA and/or RCRA regulations and have regulatory interface experience, possess superior oral and written communication skills and be willing to travel. Previous management of applied soils and/or groundwater remediation projects in the range of $100K to $5M is preferred. Periodic travel is required.
