Arup is currently looking to fill Environmental Engineering position in the ARC office in Newark, NJ. Environmental support is required to support the Area to the Regions Core (ARC) Trans Hudson Express (THE) project.  Arup is providing construction oversight and technical review services to NJ Transit for 26 separate construction projects over the next 12 years.  Arup is part of a consortium with Tishman and Parson to provide engineers and other support personnel during the life of this contract.  At this time, one construction contract has been awarded and the second design, bid, build contract will be awarded in January 2010.  The CM Consortium has agreed that safety, environmental and quality support personnel will need to be allocated for the next construction contract.  The CM Consortium is reviewing and the proposed scope of services for Environmental work for the C12-Manahattan construction oversight services.  Services to be provided include: 

  • Evaluating and assisting clients with environmental/civil permit applications and approvals
  • Assisting clients meet compliance with federal/state and local laws, such as the, Endangered Species Act and National Historic Preservation Act, and NEPA during design development
  • Liaise with civil engineering team to support environmental processes on projects
  • Providing technical advice to design staff in addressing and resolving issues raised by government agencies and utilities relating to permits and approvals hat affect finalizing regulatory actions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
