Requirements
Our Environmental group is recruiting for a Junior Environmental Engineer to join us at our Burnaby, BC office.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting role to professional engineering staff conducting contaminated site investigation and remediation projects throughout the Lower Mainland of BC, and elsewhere in BC and Alberta as may be required from time to time.
• Conducting Stage 1 PSIs under the supervision of professional staff.
• Conducting Stage 2 PSI and DSI field work, and remediation supervision/monitoring under the supervision of professional staff.
• Supervision of soil vapour survey field work, test pitting, bore hole drilling and monitoring well installation activities. Conducting a variety of field sampling activities ranging from grab samples of surficial soil to soil sampling from test pits and bore holes, surface water sampling, ground water sampling and response testing from monitoring wells.
• Horizontal/vertical control surveying.
• Assistance in the preparation of technical reports as required including, but not limited to, data compilation, field sampling and survey data reduction, preparation of test pit and bore hole/monitoring well installation logs, coordination with CADD services.
• Assistance in the preparation of quantity and cost estimates.
• Coordination of subcontract field services and analytical services.
• Maintenance and upkeep of field equipment and coordination of environmental sampling supplies.

Knowledge/Experience:

• University graduate with a directly related degree in engineering or geoscience.
• Registered or eligible for registration as an EIT or GIT with APEGBC.
• Minimum experience of 8 months post graduation in conducting contaminated sites investigations (Stage 1 PSI, Stage 2 PSI, remediation monitoring).
• Strong written and oral communication skills, strong desire to develop a career in contaminated sites and brownfield redevelopment.
• Strong computer and computer related skills. MS Office experience essential. Experience with GINT, MS Project, AutoCADD, hydrogeologic software would be an asset.
• Well organized, ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments, and deliver assignments on time and on budget.
• Mandatory valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License.
• Must have own vehicle and be able to travel on short notice.
