Environmental Engineer - Oil & Gas permitting/compliance

URS is a forerunner in providing complex, high quality environmental engineering solutions to industrial and manufacturing facilities throughout Germany and Europe.
We now seek an experienced Environmental Engineer to provide services to a major refinery site in Wesseling.

The position will involve:
- Consulting and advising on specialist issues such as environmental permitting, compliance, environmental impact assessment and environmental health and safety.
- Acting as Project Manager, ensuring correct resources are allocated to each project and that project timeframes and budgets are met accordingly.
- Writing and verifying client reports and ensuring high quality services are provided at all times.
- Ensuring all projects are carried out to health and safety standards.

Candidates must fulfil the following criteria :

- A relevant degree/qualification in industrial engineering or environmental engineering/sciences.
- A number of years work experience on environmental projects within the industrial and/or oil and gas field in Germany. Including experience of environmental permitting, assessment and health and safety and compliance audits.
- Knowledge of the local environmental legislation affecting the manufacturing/oil and gas industry.
- Sound project management skills, ideally developed in a consultancy environment or in industry.
- High level of communication and team working skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Fluent in German and English.
