POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary Responsibilities include the coordination of all Environmental Compliance procedures for the plant; aggressive management of the Energy Conservation program; and the management of facilities related projects and other related capital work.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. ISO 14001 support and guidance 2. Day to day compliance and monitoring 3. Ensures that monitoring and record keeping requirements of environmental permits are met; coordination of in-house inspections as required by permits, plans, and regulations, asbestos inspections, PCB inspections, SWPPP routine inspections, SPCCP routine inspections, etc.; ensures that spill and pollution prevention plan requirements including monitoring, inspections, recordkeeping and training are met 4. Oversees hazardous and universal waste management activities; ensures that oil and waste shipments are properly documented and labeled 5. Prepares and submits Tier II's, Form R's, etc.; prepares and files permit applications (with Corporate assistance) 6. Maintains a liaison with local and regional regulatory officials 7. Develop & Implement programs for continual improvement in accordance with ISO 14001; conduct Environmental Training with employees in accordance with ISO 14001 8. Monitor & Supervise the System Components of the Environmental Management System; develop & maintain the Environmental Management System Document Control System 9. Identify facility projects that require action re: issues, reviews project with corporate engineering and coordinates activities to insure compliance 10. Plan and execution of all major facilities projects, such as rail work, asphalt repair, roof work, HVAC, fire system work, fence repair, etc. 11. Execution of some minor capital projects, including design, estimation, project submission, purchasing, cost control, installation, and startup. 12. Supervision of contractors, as required for projects and repair. 13. Aggressively manages energy usage; develops and implements Energy Conservation programs and projects; reports Energy results, budgets, etc. 14. Contributes to other plant-wide initiatives, as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor or Associate Degree preferred * Minimum of a related 2-year degree; and/or equivalent experience with training in a directly related field
Experience: ISO 14001 experience is preferred. Three to five years of work experience in other directly related Environmental areas and/or fields. Other recommended experiences to include: energy management, project management, and manufacturing experience, preferably in the food industry.
