Supporting Meridian's Operations & Maintenance functions, this position delivers a critical service to the Natural Resources team by providing specialist advice and guidance on our environmental compliance; dealing with a number of remote renewable energy generation projects across New Zealand.

Ensuring we achieve our resource consent & other associated obligations you will be providing expert and commercially focused environmental compliance management and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.  Supporting the Markets and Production and Renewable Development business units, the responsibilities of this position include identifying and managing operational compliance risks, recommending and developing strategies for meeting and managing consent compliance across Meridian and developing an effective method to deliver environmental compliance at the operational level across New Zealand.

Your strong relationship management skills and the proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders and colleagues will assist in ensuring our project execution is fully compliant and any bureaucratic roadblocks are minimised 

Being highly experienced in environmental compliance and natural resource management, ideally in a multi-discipline construction industry, environmental science or regulatory environment; you'll have developed extensive knowledge of the Resource Management Act and related legislation, standards and policies that are relevant to our operations.   This will be supported by a tertiary qualification and demonstrated strategic planning experience and resource management experience, with detailed knowledge and application of best practice environmental management.
