Delivering best practice for a leading global FMCG manufacturer

Environmental Co-ordinator

c.£25,000pa + excellent benefits & prospects
South Wales / close M4

One of the world's foremost FMCG manufacturers, our client's expanding UK operations continue to supply increasing numbers of overseas markets.

Not only are they recognised for their successful brands and expansion into new overseas markets, but equally for their excellent employer reputation and working environment.

Continued growth also means there is a huge and ongoing obligation to meet increased legislation in all areas of environmental best practice. The key objective of this role is to ensure the Company maintains legal compliance of environmental legislation, by implementing the most robust standards and procedures with regard to waste handling, waste management and the most cost effective methods of recycling and/or disposal.

In addition to managing two EHS Waste Operatives on site, you will actively work with all levels of employees to raise the cultural awareness of environmental standards and requirements, driving best practice across all operational areas.

It is essential you have a relevant Environmental qualification backed up by a number of years in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing involving hazardous chemicals and production processes. Also important will be evidence of carrying out comprehensive, professional environmental audits whilst leading site environmental performance improvements. Involvement in implementing ISO14001 would be a distinct advantage. You will need to be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills, with diplomacy, resilience and firmness to handle obstacles. You will be ambitious and able to make the most of the career prospects associated with this new appointment.
