Job Description:
The Environmental Biologist conducts field surveys for special status plants and wildlife, and will also support the Sr. Biologist in coordinating project needs, including coordinating field efforts, drafting reports, and responding to client needs.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental compliance monitoring and preparing technical reports under the supervision of senior staff.
- Numerous trips to project sites to conduct surveys; may require frequent travel away from home
- In this role, you will be responsible for one of more of the following depending on your areas of experience/expertise: jurisdictional waters/wetlands delineation, general biological resources evaluations and habitat assessments and focused surveys for rare and endangered plants and animals
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Biology or related field
- 2+ years of consulting or environmental analysis experience.
- Must have an excellent knowledge of Southern California flora and/or fauna and a technical specialty such as avian species, small mammals, or botany
- Knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, FESA, and CESA Compliance
Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience operating GPS units, including data capture and maintenance of the unit, is desirable

Permitted to survey for California gnatcatcher and/or southwestern willow flycatcher

Thorough knowledge of least Bell's vireo vocalizations

Ability to identify obligate riparian and/or sage scrub bird species by sight and sound
