Maplecroft is looking to recruit dynamic environmental analysts at all levels, with knowledge and experience of key environmental issues (such as water, climate change, natural hazards, etc) and the associated risks and responsibilities relating to business.

Assignments may include:

  • The identification, research and analysis of global, regional and country-specific environmental risks
  • The writing of briefings, reports and articles on environmental risks to business relating to countries, companies, sectors and commodities
  • Identification and engagement with key stakeholder organisations with environmental interests
  • The development of indices, indicators and maps to illustrate global, national and sub-national environmental risks
  • Client-specific consultancy on the strategic management of environmental risks

Excellent research, writing and analytical skills are essential. Sector-specific experience in agri-business, mining, oil and gas, or financial services is desirable. In-depth knowledge and experience of water, climate change or natural hazard issues are also desirable.

Subject to experience and/or advancement, team members will manage individual projects and/or communicate directly with clients on deliverables. Candidates should be highly literate, supported by relevant qualifications, including at minimum a Master’s degree or PhD and at least one year of relevant full-time work experience. Applicants must have advanced IT skills and demonstrable proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite. They should also have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, superior writing and presentation skills, and a deep understanding of research methodology. All positions require an ability to manage time effectively and work under time pressure. Applicants should be innovative and creative, with strong interpersonal communication skills, and comfortable working in an interdisciplinary, multi-cultural team with formal peer review.
