Our client Southern Water are looking for a Environment Strategic Planner to join the Strategic Planning team at Southern Water (Worthing) the role is to experiment with options and provide information to support business cases for future investments.

Environment Strategic Planner

The Job

Supports the development of Company strategy and the delivery of customer promises for the strategic objective
of ‘Looking after the environment’.

Accountabilities

• Supports delivery strategies and investment plans to meet our 5 and 25 year requirements for ‘Looking after
the environment’ e.g. pollution, bathing waters, carbon and environmental sustainability.
• Information research, collation, review and analysis for ageing asset, asset resilience, fitness for purpose and
security strategies for wastewater treatment and sludge assets, including sludge disposal strategy.
• Information research, collation, review and analysis for business cases for environmental improvements
• Information research, collation, review and analysis for identifying customer service improvement investment
strategies in accordance with customer research and willingness to pay
• Drafting of business case for regulatory submissions, assets strategies and outcome delivery strategies.
• Preparation and presentation of material for internal and external audit or assurance.

Key skills/knowledge/qualifications/experience:

Essential – Degree in science, engineering or other numerate subject
Desirable – Post graduate qualification in science, engineering, water or environment.

Some experience in infrastructure planning, asset management, water or environment planning.

Track record of research, analysis and quality assurance of information which is used for planning and business analysis.

Demonstrated ability in autonomous working.
