Description

We are seeking to appoint 7 Environment Programme Officers (£49,130) and 1 Environment Programme Support Officer (£39,528).

Successful candidates will have strong analytical skills and a successful track record of programme delivery and policy development in the following policy areas:

  • Climate change mitigation and energy
  • Climate change adaptation
  • Air quality
  • Urban greening and biodiversity conservation

Candidates must have a strong track record of developing evidence-based policy and translating policy into delivery on the ground.

You will work with a range of stakeholders to provide a strategic lead on programmes covering a diverse range of initiatives to implement mayoral strategies. Programmes will include increasing the quantity and improving the quality of green spaces in London, facilitating decentralised energy networks, enabling energy and water efficiency in new and existing development, building resilience to extreme weather and future climate impacts, and improving London’s air quality. 

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is noon 5th October 2009. Interviews will take place at City Hall week commencing 12th October 2009.
