Environment Officer - 12 month fixed contract - Monmouth base

Natural Resources Wales are looking for an Environment Officer to join a busy Environment Management Team. As a warranted Environment Officer you will support the environment regulation of waste, water and agricultural sectors across the Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent & Brecknockshire areas. You will influence regulated and unregulated customers to achieve and exceed compliance with environmental legislation to ensure the sustainable management of resources within wales. You will respond efficiently and safely to environmental pollution incidents and assist with investigations into environmental offences.

Job Specific Requirements

* Work experience within one of the following fields: waste management, water industry, agriculture or regulation.
* Awareness of Environmental legislation.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise reports and statements.
* The ability to negotiate and liaise with industry operators, farmers and other customers.
* Good customer service skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Graduate in relevant discipline.
* Professional membership.
