We’re looking for Environmental Monitoring Officers to collect field-based data and samples and conduct office-based data interpretation, quality assurance and validation..

You'll carry out monitoring, survey work, and data collection to support the area environmental monitoring programme. Provide day to day fieldwork and provide support to other monitoring staff. Lead on providing good quality site information to the team and high quality data and information to customers. Help with incident response and investigations when required. This is a fieldwork based post whereby a significant amount of time will be spent working outdoors.

The team


Sampling and Collection are a mainly field based team. We carry out routine chemical and ecological (including fish) sampling and collection of environmental data from rivers, lakes, canals and ground waters. Much of this work is to meet statutory requirements.

The position involves outdoor work (in all weathers)and traveling throughout the area. Therefore a valid driving license, the ability to work alone in remote locations, and be comfortable working in and around water is essential.
