My client a newly formed delivery organisation working on a multi-billion pound infrastructure scheme have an immediate requirement for an Environmental Advisor.

The Job

Working as part of a newly formed Environmental delivery team this immediate requirement is for an Environmental Advisor / consultant to work on a large engineering project. working alongside environmental topic specialists and in close association with environmental engineering specialists the successful applicant would be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental commitments, environmental law and regulation for the duration of planning and construction phase of this flag ship project.

other responsibilities will include:

  • provide direction for environmental design solutions
  • liaison with technical stakeholders
  • tracking environmental contract expenditure
  • develop mitigation strategies and solutions

ideally applicants should be degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant environmental discipline and working at or towards chartered status. you should have a proven track record of working in environmental assessment, design and implementation on large or complex construction projects within the infrastructure / engineering sector.

A stong understanding of UK legislation and current best practice guidance and delivery of cost balanced mitigation strategies and solutions.

Desirable skills would include a masters level qualification and exposure to work within an EIA or environmental management background. Project management skills would also be of value to this position.
