The Company - Tidal Energy Limited (TEL) is a renewable energy development company specialising in power generation from tidal stream. It is currently engaged in the development of its 1.2MW prototype ‘DeltaStream’ device, proposed for installation off the coast of south west Wales in 2011. The company has a small and highly motivated management team, and as it now prepares to begin manufacture is seeking to strengthen its core capabilities with the appointment of an Engineering Manager.
The Role - Based in our Cardiff office, you will manage the technical development and delivery of the DeltaStream device, co-ordinating and overseeing designed solutions and equipments from contractors to TEL. You will drive best engineering practice to ensure the timely delivery of the DeltaStream product, its design, manufacture and assembly, consistent with the cost and programme schedules of the project.
You will provide engineering expertise and support to the TEL Board of Directors and Management Team.
Required Qualifications and Experience - Educated to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical, electrical or marine engineering related discipline , you would preferably hold, or be working towards professional Chartered Engineering status. You should also demonstrate a proven track record in a similar role.
