You will be a member of the group, which is responsible for:

  • The operation and maintenance of solar generation facilities across Ontario encompassing both utility scale ground mount sites and commercial rooftops;
  • Remediation of technical issues impacting generation asset performance;
  • Commissioning and control of solar infrastructure;
  • Maximization of generation asset performance;
  • Policies and procedures, work methods, standards, health and safety, quality assurance of external resources, etc.;

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Introduction to solar generation systems;
  • Introduction to operating requirements for electrical generation facilities, electrical code requirements, energy industry standards and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with visual inspections of sites implementing new technologies;
  • Assist with project management of various site remediation initiatives;
  • Assist with work coordination, workload planning and material procurement;
  • Assist with analysis and resolution of technical issues with components or sites;
  • Assist with revisions and updates to field records, as laid drawings and other operations records;
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation dealing with field procedures, health and safety practices, processes, etc.
  • Assist with development of opportunities for introduction of new technology, and recommend changes to reduce costs and increase productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Discipline: Electrical Engineering
  • Academic Level: 3rd year or higher
  • Other requirements: Keyboarding skills, presentation skills, knowledge of power system fundamentals is desirable

WORKING CONDITIONS 
Some travel may be required. This may involve overnight stays up to several days at a time.
