Energy, Waste and Water Consultant (Construction/Facilities Management)

With operations around Australia plus assets worth $ billions, our client is determined to reduce running costs through efficiencies in energy, water and waste. To do this they are seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer to work for 2 or 3 days per week on a 3 year contract.

Reporting the Environmental Manager, the first phase of your work will require you to collect data on all existing assets within Melbourne. Collection of data includes analysis of all current energy, water and waste usage. The second phase of the work will require you to assist in reporting recommendations before the final phase of implementation.

The initial contract will be for 3 years with an option to extend the contract if all parties are satisfied for a further 3 years. In that time, there may be an opportunity to extend the hours to a full-time role if both parties are interested.

To be considered for this role you will ideally have qualifications in science or engineering plus significant professional experience focusing on sustainability and the environment. Candidates with sustainability experience in the property, construction, facilities management, water or waste sectors will be given priority.

Our client is ultimately looking for an autonomous individual who is a self starter. An ability to communicate at various levels will be essential, in both written and verbal form. This position will suit an individual seeking the ability to work flexible hours (16-32 hours max in the initial phases).
