The Energy Services Business Developer will build partnerships with utilities, municipalities and other strategic accounts.  This role will identify and prepare responses to requests for proposals to deliver energy services, and will build partnerships that enable SolarCity to deliver energy services at scale.  Energy services may include demand response, energy monitoring, energy efficiency, energy storage, or solar energy services.

 Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and prioritize RFPs and programmatic or strategic opportunities to deliver energy services at scale
  • Analyze existing Utility Commission, Energy Commission or legislative mandates for energy services deployments to prioritize opportunities that align with SolarCity’s core strengths
  • Develop recommendations for utilities or program implementers regarding the most effective way to improve program impacts and effectiveness through SolarCity services
  • Build rapport and partnerships with utilities, program administrators, and strategic accounts
  • Prepare formal proposals and RFP responses for these opportunities
  • Track and report on opportunities regularly
  • Finalize contracted partnerships with utilities, program administrators, and strategic accounts that enable SolarCity to scale its energy services offerings
 
Requirements
  •  At least 5 years strategic sales and business development experience with a proven track record
  • Bachelors degree required preferably in economics, business or related fields
  • Familiarity with typical M&V requirements, elements of energy services program design, and public utility commission econometric tools and measures of energy services programs
  • Experience in energy economics analysis, especially analysis related to energy services, innovative pricing, incentive ratemaking, market analysis, and integration of supply-side and demand-side resources in planning
  • Technically adept, highly comfortable with rapidly changing technology

  • Comfortable with high volume rapidly changing work flow
