Description

Bristol City Council’s Energy Service is looking for a Project Officer to support with the ongoing management and maintenance of our renewable and heat generating Assets. Your role will be to support the Asset Manager with the ongoing operations and maintenance of Bristol City Council’s renewable energy assets, ensuring that they are generating the maximum income and carbon savings and managing any stakeholder liaison and engagement. You will be expected to help monitor and evaluate the performance of energy generating assets, organise contractors and support in budget management and procurement.

Bristol City Council is leading by example in the action against climate change and has committed to be a city that runs entirely on clean energy by 2030. The council’s award-winning Energy Service is a driving force behind this activity, delivering projects that benefit the social, economic and environmental health of our city and partners across the region.

The city council has already delivered a varied portfolio of renewable energy projects and energy efficiency programmes. Bristol City Council now owns a number of revenue generating renewable energy assets. These include a wind farm, solar PV farm, multiple heat generating plant and a significant amount of roof top solar and there are more projects in the pipeline.

You will be comfortable with understanding a variety of renewable or low carbon technologies and preferably have some project management experience either through training or job roles. The role will require travel to sites and an ability to travel around the city is required.

You will have experience in dealing with a variety of stakeholders and developing and maintaining good relationships. You will need to be able to work independently and manage your own projects. This is an ideal opportunity for somebody who has some project management experience and is looking to develop their skills.
