Description

Our Energy team is looking for an intern, based in our London office, to work with us across a number of exciting projects. Our Energy projects bring together groups of organisations for long term collaboration towards a sustainable energy system. We look to create progressive changes to policies, business models, mind sets, finance and technologies. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to experience and contribute to our work.

The intern will work on a variety of projects and research pieces across the energy system, mostly with a UK-focus. Examples are the Community Energy Coalition, the Community Energy Fortnight, Farm Power & the Big Energy Vision.

Responsibilities for the intern could include:

  • Research on a decentralised UK energy system, including trends technologies, issues and policies;
  • Research and support for business development opportunities with collaboration partners;
  • Support for energy team events;
  • Administration support, including minute taking for meetings and excel spreadsheets to support project work;
  • Assistance in maintaining energy project webpages and social media channels, including the www.ukcec.org website.

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of, and interest in, energy issues affecting the UK, in particular renewable and community energy;
  • Event planning and support;
  • Qualitative and quantitative research;
  • Use of databases.

The internship could offer opportunities to:

  • Build unique insights into changing the UK energy system through involvement in cutting-edge projects;
  • Be a part of and contribute to project design, planning and delivery;
  • Gain practical experience of event planning and delivery;
  • Gain experience in stakeholder management;
  • Strengthen research skills;
  • Access to Forum for the Future resources and learning programme.

This internship covers three to five days a week for three months. Lunch expenses up to £5 a day and travel costs from within London (zones 1-6) can be reclaimed.
