The role

The post holder will play a key role in helping reduce the carbon footprint of the University and further develop the exemplar work on energy management of their predecessor, by which we have been able to cut our consumptions while also growing our Estate, saving over a £1m/year off our bottom line.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Engineering, Energy/Environmental Management, Building Services or related discipline
  • At least 2-5 years experience, ideally in energy, building services, sustainability or related field
  • Technical knowledge of building services, energy audits, data analysis, energy management software, sustainable construction, BMS systems and energy legislation
  • Experience of managing projects, contractors, budgets and awareness campaigns
  • An organised, methodical, problem-solving approach that sees issues through to completion
  • Influencing skills, initiative, and above all to be self-motivated and enthusiastic about environmental issues
