This is a key role that will assist this company deliver its aspiration to significantly increase the services offered to clients in the energy field, for which there is rapidly growing demand. The role includes undertaking energy-related work in areas such as:
- Energy minimisation advice to property managers - Energy surveys and audits - Renewable energy feasibility studies - Carbon footprinting - Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates - Energy supply procurement.
The successful candidate will be required to take on an existing workload of projects and assist the team leader in developing new work through business development activities with internal and external clients, including clients in the public and private sectors. They will be involved in all aspects of the workload, including proposal writing, project work and reporting. They will need to manage elements of projects that are allocated to them, including monitoring expenditure and achieving profit targets.
The role will involve liaison with colleagues involved in energy work within the business as a whole including M&E and sustainability specialists, and those involved with specialist energy divisions within the business.
The key Competencies must be
- Appropriate skills in the energy field, applicable to the types of project listed above
- Effective writing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage a challenging and diverse workload
- Project management skills including the ability to monitor expenditure and achieve profit targets
Essential qualifications include:
- Degree educated in relevant subject (Energy, Environmental, Engineering or equivalent)
- Ideally a Master’s degree in relevant subject and/or ideally Chartered with a relevant professional body
and/or Member of Energy Institute and/or Energy Performance Certified and/or CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant and/or Accredited Carbon Trust Consultant
A good track record of undertaking relevant energy-related projects is required, ideally in a consultancy environment. The appointment will be at Consultant or Senior Consultant level depending on skills and experience, with a Senior Consultant appointment requiring a higher level of skill and experience in project management, business development and technical delivery.
