Description

The Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is a member-led, not for profit organisation which works to support the local business community and our network of members. Being a finalist in the World Chambers Competition, awarded one of the Sunday Times Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work for 2018 and 2019 and being accredited at Investors in People Gold level, these are exciting times to join the Chamber of Commerce.

We offer an excellent benefits package which includes: 29 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, private healthcare and access to retail discounts. We offer a range of work life balance policies and are an equal opportunities employer.

We now have an opportunity for an experienced Energy and Resource Efficiency Advisor to join our team.

You will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering low cost and no cost energy and resource efficiency solutions for Worcestershire and Marches based businesses, pro-actively providing support for businesses that have the scope to make the biggest impact. This will involve you assessing energy and resource usage.

You will assist businesses to develop and implement sustainable strategies and a range of policies relating to energy and resource efficiency and their management, supporting them to develop grant applications for the Business Energy Efficiency Programme, (BEEP) and providing client account management services to those participating in the programme.

You will also be required to co-ordinate an energy and resource efficiency network, developing a range of relationships with businesses that will be instrumental in supporting BEEP, whilst identifying and engaging with key intermediaries and stakeholders, including local authorities, universities and private sector providers, to ensure that businesses have access to a wide range of energy and resource efficiency solutions.

BEEP is a highly successful and well received support programme within the local business community and this customer facing role is fundamental to delivery.

This is a key role for the organisation and we are looking for an individual with proven experience of working with SMEs in the provision of energy and resource efficiency and support, advice and solutions, with evidence of client account management skills and where possible in the area of grant application assistance and European funding.

The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker, with the ability to monitor and deliver against key criteria and objectives and have a high level of understanding and interest in the energy industry, energy and resource efficiency, environmental issues and government targets relating to energy and resource efficiency.

You will have the ability to research and provide solution to complex issues, be able to communicate confidently at all levels within the organisation, with the ability to present and network successfully with public sector partners and business owners alike, being able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
