Entry-level and experienced wind energy and development engineer positions are available in our Izmir Office in Turkey. The primary function of these positions will be to assess the wind resource and expected energy output of proposed and operational utility-scale wind farms in the growing Turkish market. Duties will include analysing wind and other climatic data, inspecting sites and measurement equipment, performing wind flow modelling, reviewing turbine site suitability, designing wind farm layouts, conducting statistical uncertainty analyses, and writing technical reports.
Required qualifications include:
- Degree in an engineering, atmospheric science, or mathematics field;
- Fluency in Turkish and English;
- The ability to write clear and accurate reports in English.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Familiarity with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques.
Key attributes required include:
- Aptitude for statistical analysis of data;
- Good communication and organisational skills to work effectively in a sometimes pressurised consultancy environment to deliver high quality work;
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects often with timescales of less than two months, some longer running.
Applicants should be self-motivated and enjoy taking on challenges and responsibilities. The positions will involve some site work and travel. Remuneration will depend on experience and background.
The positions will be based in the GH office in Izmir, Turkey. An initial period of training (6 to 9 months) will be required at the GH head office in Bristol, England.
