The Environment Centre (tEC) is looking for full time Energy Adviser support a part of a city-wide energy efficiency and affordable warmth campaign, Southampton Healthy Homes.

Southampton Healthy Homes is a partnership project which aims to keep people warm and well in their homes. The assistance available includes the provision of information, advice and casework as well as training and community outreach. The most vulnerable households - those in or at risk of fuel poverty - will be supported with funding to install energy efficiency measures. The project is funded by British Gas Energy Trust.

The successful applicant will have experience of working in the energy efficiency/ sustainability sector and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work sensitively with vulnerable people is a must, as is a flexible, proactive approach.

Good people skills are also very important for this role; you’ll be quick to build rapport with colleagues and external contacts, a good listener as well as being happy to take instruction from others. Ideally you’ll be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about environmental issues and have experience with community engagement.

As this role involves working with vulnerable people a DBS check will be required.
