Endangered Species Act Organizer
Full Time
Tucson, Arizona; flexible with Portland, Oregon

General position overview:
The Center seeks an experienced organizer to engage other environmental groups, religious organizations, sportsmen’s organizations, community leaders, elected officials and others in defense of the Endangered Species Act. 

Main duties:

  • Generate favorable news articles and TV and radio stories on the success and importance of the Endangered Species Act.
  • Develop materials for the Center’s website highlighting threats to the Endangered Species Act and making the case for saving the Act.
  • Engage political leaders to obtain their support for a strong Endangered Species Act.
  • Engage the public through action alerts and other tools to ensure that political leaders hear constituent voices in support of the Endangered Species Act.
  • Generate favorable editorials and op-eds produced in response to our work.
  • Engage other environmental groups, religious organization, hunting and fishing groups, and others to join our campaign.

Essential qualities, qualifications and skills desired:

  • Dynamic and assertive personality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • At least three years experience running grassroots campaigns.
  • A passion for and knowledge of the natural world, biodiversity and the Endangered Species Act.
  • Experience conducting research, including database work, highly desirable.
