This award winning project is looking for volunteers from all over the world to help conserve a threatened population of desert adapted elephants. Help protect subsistence farmers’ and community water points through hands on work, constructing protection walls to prevent elephant damage. In addition you will be required to join experienced trackers on a weeklong elephant patrol, tracking and monitoring elephant herds and movements. This project will be particularly rewarding for those wanting to follow a career in frontline conservation, who want to understand the politics surrounding sustainable management of wildlife, and the challenges and remedies for human – wildlife conflict.
The project costs £850 per 2 week booking which includes accommodation, food, training and orientation. Volunteers are able to access cheaper flights through an agreement the project has with a booking agent.
