Description: |
We are seeking an Electrician to join our Facilities staff in Columbus, New Mexico. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, facility production equipment, controls, buildings, switchboards, panels and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, faults and failures.
- Operate Instrumentation panels and electrical controls and switches
- Read electrical blueprints, drawings, schematics of buildings, production and electrical systems, communications and fiber optics.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Provide assistance during emergencies and power failures.
- Responds to call – outs for emergency maintenance off hours

Requirements: |
- Certified Electrician to include knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations as well as knowledge of tools, equipment, and material to the electrical trade
- 5 Years of progressive journeyman experience
- Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and material to the electrical trade.
- Skill in written and verbal communication, presentation of electrical faults, status reports, ideas and repair.
- Experience working with Safety Programs.
