Electrical Designer, Utility

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

This individual will support delivery of photovoltaic projects in North America with an emphasis on AC system design and utility interconnection. Projects range from approximately 1 MW to 20+ MW with interconnection voltages at distribution levels. Project involvement spans from initial site selection to final commissioning and power generation. The Electrical Designer will focus on AC design of the PV system with special attention to medium voltage distribution and collection systems and interconnection design as required by the utility or applicable codes. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for ensuring the AC design meets all applicable codes, utility requirements, is efficient, reliable, and meets company standards for quality. This individual will work closely with the Sales, Design and Engineering, Operations, and Service departments. Major deliverables include: site evaluations; cost estimates; issued for construction plans and equipment specifications; and construction inspections. This position requires travel on a regular basis for site screening, meetings, inspections, or other general needs.
