The principal goals of the IAP Partner are to fulfill a leadership role within the Thailand/Malaysia/Japan IAP practice focusing primarily on the Oil and Gas sector, with an accountability for team performance (technical, financial, health and safety, career development), growth in line with ERM’s Oil and Gas key sector strategy (while building on other sectors such as mining and government/ infrastructure) and identification and winning approval / EIA projects.

Specific objectives for the role comprise the following:

  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of the IAP practice and Oil and Gas sector growth strategies within Thailand that leverages the existing clients, programs, resources, insights, plans, intelligence and opportunities available to ERM and through your own existing networks;
  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of an aggressive oil and gas sector strategy to establish ERM as the premier provider of EHSS services to the oil and gas sector;
  • Provide thought-leadership and influence to shape and drive the direction and performance of the business, specifically in the oil and gas sector and more broadly across the Thailand business;
  • Work with the Office Managing Partner (OMP), other partners and managers to assess and maintain focus on IAP Practice and Oil and Gas sector strategy;
  • Work with IAP Partners and team managers (social, terrestrial and marine) to ensure technical and professional development of staff, refine recruiting strategies associated with current client needs and opportunities, as well as determining potential growth and strategic hires associated with market needs/ trends;
  • Have direct leadership responsibility for the IAP team in Thailand/Malaysia/Japan including sales, staff management, resource management and the technical, financial and health and safety performance of the team;
  • Maintain, develop and leverage strong client relationships and build a strong IAP practice infrastructure and community that enables identification, award and delivery of IAP/ EIA projects across our market sectors with particular focus on the Oil & Gas sector;
  • Engage with Oil and Gas sector and IAP practice counterparts within ERM and take an active role in Thailand/Malaysia/Japan Oil and Gas and IAP initiatives and leadership activities;
  • Increase the recognition, visibility and reputation of the ERM brand among targeted clients and competitors     including undertaking a client facing lead role.

A Partner in the Thailand/Japan/Malaysia unit is responsible for the profitability of the business and sustained growth in sales, client relationships and employee welfare and skill development. As leaders in the business, Partners are expected to effectively balance all aspects of ERM’s business strategy, people leadership, client relationships and business opportunities with sound commercial acumen.

Key skills and experience required:

  • At least an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or
    environmental management; Post-graduate qualifications would be beneficial;
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience managing ESHIA’s and multi-disciplinary projects specifically in the oil and gas and mining sectors and large infrastructure projects globally or in Thailand/Japan/Malaysia;
  • Advanced Project Management skills;
  • Ability to influence others and lead by example;
  • Ability to coach and develop others;
  • Ability to grow new business  and demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking;
  • Ability to exercise judgement and make decisions;
  • High degree of commercial acumen and integrity;
  • High degree of cultural awareness;
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Lotus Notes.
