An exciting opportunity to work in our highly regarded environment and planning team. 

Job Description

The successful applicant will work within our specialist environmental team as an Environmental Consultant to lead and develop a range of EIA, SEA and SA/AA projects.

Duties include:

Project management, EIA coordination
Technical contribution to the EIA  process
Report writing - including EIA screening and determination, EIA scoping and ES production.
Liaising with clients and external contractors
Providing expert Environmental advice - EIA, SEA, AA and SA
Liaising with specialist internal multidisciplinary teams working on a variety of projects.
Assisting in our planning or ecology teams as necessary.
Producing Project Environmental Managements Plans,
Construction Environmental Management Plans
 

Requirements

 
Essential Requirements

Degree/ MSc in EIA, Environmental Science or related discipline.
Candidates should hold associate membership of IEMA / IEEM / CIWEM or similar.
Candidates must have previous experience of working on environmental / EIA projects in a consultancy environment.
Demonstrable understanding of EIA legislation
Experience of contributing to and editing Environmental Statements
Experience / knowledge of managing specialist sub contractors and other contributors to the EIA process.
Able to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a minimum of supervision.
Good people and technical skills.
A full clean driving licence is a requirement of the role. 
 
Desirable Requirements

Highly desirable

Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards this qualification.
Although the company operates a fleet of pool cars, the use of one's own transport is required from time to time and car ownership is therefore desirable.
Able to contribute to the technical work being undertaken in either the ecology or planning team.

Desirable

Experience of renewable energy schemes
Working knowledge of at least one of the following;
Sustainability Appraisal, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Habitats Regulation Assessment /, BREEAM, contaminated land.  

Responsibilities

Project management, report writing and report checking.
Technical input to the EIA process.

The Individual

A self-motivated individual, with good communication skills, able to inspire other team members.
Good organisational skills, able to work both on their own and within a team environment, including multidisciplinary teams.
