Under the supervision of the AMC North Country Youth Programming Director, this multi-faceted position will manage and develop AMC’s Teen Wilderness Adventures program, coordinate education outreach efforts in communities local to Pinkham Notch and the Highland Center through the Community Partnerships for Youth program, and assist A Mountain Classroom Program Coordinators with program administration and logistics. This is a full-time year-round position based at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center in New Hampshire.

The Teen Wilderness Adventures Program offers multi-element, wilderness trips to youth aged 12 – 18 years during the summer season.Trips range in length from 5 to 23 days, combine different outdoor elements such as backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, and rock climbing throughoutthe White Mountains region of northern New Hampshire, the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire, the Maine coast, Western Maine, and the 100-mile Wilderness region of Maine.

The Community Partnerships for Youth program seeks collaborations with targeted Coos County schools and community organizations for the education and development of youth.   This position is responsible for working with local communities and schools to dovetail their youth development needs with the programmatic aim and resources of the AMC.  The AMC has a goal of working with schools to offer hands-on, inquiry-based programming that meets NH Science Frameworks.   The Education Programs Coordinator will develop and deliver both AMC and non-AMC programming and resources for the local communities.
