Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity.  The Trust has over 32,000 members, 2,000 volunteers, 87 nature reserves, 10 Visitor Centres and around 120 staff.

We have an exciting opportunity at our Fingringhoe Wick Visitor Centre for an Education Officer.  The main aim of this post is to deliver and promote a varied and engaging education programme of informal and formal education for preschool age to adult at Fingringhoe Visitor Centre and the local areas.  The successful applicant will have experience working with children and young people.  An interest in wildlife and conservation is essential.

Responsibilities include:

-          Deliver fun and engaging “nature” themed birthday party sessions for children aged 4-10 years.

-          Lead a wide variety of environmental education sessions for Primary and Secondary School groups.

-          Deliver fun and engaging “nature” themed activities for pre-school children and family groups during school holidays.

-          Work with the centre team of staff and volunteers to ensure good customer service.

37.5 hours to be worked as x5 7.5 hour days over a two week period (equivalent to 18.75 hours per week)
