WHC is accepting resumes for the Education Specialist to work with its Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) Program.

Description
Under the direction of the Director of Conservation Education and Outreach, the Education Specialist will conduct site- visits to member facilities (travel is required for this position; at busiest times of year, travel may represent as much as 35-50 percent of time on job). Education specialist will also research and co-author opportunities reports for the Corporate Lands for Learning program, customizing education offerings on a site by site, region by region basis. Additional duties include assisting Director in development and implementation of regional education workshops (some travel required) and on-line educational offerings. Also responsible for assisting with tasks associated with maintenance of webpage, electronic newsletters, and events at our annual conference, as well as carrying out some general clerical and administrative duties and working on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
We seek a creative, enthusiastic person with a BS/BA in either environmental/science education, natural resources (with a focus on outreach and community engagement) or related field; ability to relate well to clients both in person and via phone and electronic media a necessity. Must have excellent phone skills, excellent writing and editing skills, proficiency with MS Word/Excel, and familiarity and experience with wildlife habitat management techniques are essential. Must be able to assist in promotion ofCLL program to WHC membership and assist in workshop implementation. Knowledge of native plants and basic understanding of ecology is desirable; knowledge of environmental education curricula required. Other characteristics important for the job include attention to detail, and the ability to set priorities, work under deadlines and work effectively with minimal supervision. 

Compensation
Compensation for this position commensurate with experience—beginning low to mid- thirties, with benefits.
