Education Coordinator II
Location: Edgartown (Martha’s Vineyard), MA

Mass Audubon’s Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary in Edgartown, MA is a community treasure on Martha’s Vineyard. For over 40 years, education, conservation, and wildlife protection has been our passion and our mission. Felix Neck seeks a dynamic educator to coordinate all aspects of environmental education programs, including designing, planning, and teaching school and public programs. Responsibilities additionally include directing and overseeing Fern and Feather Natural History Day Camp for children, including the hiring and supervising seasonal staff, producing sanctuary newsletters and other promotional and marketing materials, community outreach, interpretive exhibit design and maintenance, and special events coordination. With our team of professional staff, the Education Coordinator works collaboratively to educate and inspire a commitment to protect our natural resources

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in biological or earth science, environmental studies, nature interpretation, or education or equivalent, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in environmental education or Master’s degree in biological or earth science, environmental studies, nature interpretation, or education or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to relate to a diverse range of people and exercise cultural competence and inclusion. Knowledge of local natural history, environmental policies and conservation science issues desirable. Requires 2 years of prior supervisory experience of staff/volunteers and 2 years of prior experience in budget development and management, as well as revenue forecasting and financial recordkeeping. Candidate must meet requirements for camp directors consistent with State and ACA standards. Requires First Aid and CPR certification upon hire. Water Safety certification required, Lifeguard preferred or the willingness to obtain. Requires successful completion of a CORI and SORI.
