The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks an Education and Service Learning Coordinator in our Massachusetts AmeriCorps Program based out of our Plainfield, MA Office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the education service component of the program
- Develop and maintain partnerships with schools and educational institutions
- Solicit, select and schedule education and service learning projects for members, ensuring they meet the stated objectives of the program
- Design, implement, and evaluate the school-based education service including guiding members in their development and implementation of environmental/outdoor education curriculums and programming and ensuring that it meets partner and SCA standards.
- Manage school field trips and site visits
- Manage individual corps member internships, including program development, member selection and supervision
- Build, maintain, and manage education program resources and supplies
- Supervise day to day activities and performance of members, providing support, counsel, and advice
- Assist the Program Director in recruiting, interviewing and selecting corps members

- Monitor the logging of member service hours
- Oversee, facilitate and evaluate corps member goal setting and achievement
- Develop and maintain systems of accountability between program staff, members and external program partners
- Act as a liaison between agency coordinators and corps members
- Plan and facilitate group building activities designed to encourage the development and maintenance of a healthy residential community including organizing and participating in weekly community meetings
- Provide field-based supervision and technical and logistical support
