Education and Community Outreach Officer

Join us and become part of a new project to reduce the risk of flooding to properties in south London while inspiring communities and educating the next generation in sustainable water management.

We are looking for an inspiring and engaging Education and Community Outreach Officer to join the SuDs in Sutton’s Schools project (SiSS). The project will disconnect 4.5 ha of impermeable hard surfaces from the surface water network by installing a range of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) located in the grounds of seven local schools.

You will work with project partners to facilitate the smooth delivery of SiSS on the ground, engaging the schools in the design process to create SuDS that will be used as a teaching resource to educate children on water management and the River Wandle. You will engage the wider community on water management, particularly how smaller SuDS interventions can be installed at home, assisting them with their delivery, inspiring the local area to become more permeable and create a landscape that is more resilient to climate change.
