SITA UK is looking to recruit an Education and Community officer to support our objectives to increase recycling and reduce waste in Doncaster.

As a key member of the Doncaster operations team, your role will be to promote recycling and waste prevention to residents, as part of a wide reaching and varied programme developed with our client, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.

Predominantly this will include monitoring participation rates and delivering projects to increase participation and recycling, delivering education and awareness campaigns throughout the area and supporting the contract’s operational services.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and the desire to make a difference, and must have experience of delivering educational training to various user groups.

You will need to be a natural communicator and have the confidence to stand up in front of a range of different audiences and build positive relationships with them and other key stakeholders.

Having experience in developing, delivering and evaluating your own projects, will mean that you are confident at working on your own and with others to make these happen.

You will also be working with people at all levels, so you will need to be adaptable in order to communicate effectively with them.

With such a varied role, good prioritisation and multi tasking skills will be essential in order to deliver excellent work on time and to the required standards.

An understanding of the waste industry or experience in an educational or communications based role would be an advantage, but is not essential.

A full UK driving license is essential for the role.
