Ecology Consultant

Our client is a major provider of expert solutions and policy advice on environmental issues. They provide clients with objective, science-based information, advice and implementation services across the environment sector.

 A vacancy has arisen for an ecologist at their Cambridge office.  The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be competent and experienced in carrying out extended phase 1 habitat and more specialist botanical surveys and those for a range of protected species.

Education/qualifications/experience/skills

• An initial degree or equivalent in a relevant environmental subject
• Good knowledge of ecological principles, wildlife conservation and practical habitat management
• At least 2 years of experience of working as a practicing ecologist, preferably in a commercial environment
• Good organisational and team working skills, including the ability to prioritise and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel and in the use of email and the internet
• Numerate

A full UK driving licence is essential
