Applicants MUST have the following:
• At least 2 years experience in Extended Phase 1 AND NVC habitat surveys, including upland environments; Applicants should also ideally have: • Knowledge of peatland habitats and restoration • Experience of applying ecological principles to a range of projects, preferably within an environmental consultancy framework; • Substantial knowledge of ecological survey and evaluation methods as applied to a range of taxa; • Experience of protected species mitigation and legal compliance • Experience of designing, managing and undertaking ecological assessments; • In depth knowledge of environmental law, including the Habitats Regulations, CRoW Act, and Water Framework Directive; • Evidence of client liaison, contract negotiation; • Experience of working with developers on development sites; You should be able to work on your own ,leading projects but also within multidisciplinary teams advising colleagues. You will be based within the Glasgow office and will be willing to travel to sites to undertake field surveys. A full driving licence is essential. Computer skills including database, GIS skills and experience would be advantageous.
