A multi disciplined consultancy with a national presence is recruiting a motivated, talented and ambitious Ecologist to join its growing Environmental team. The Ecologist will be a key member of the ecological consultancy team, responsible for leading survey work on a wide variety of projects and advising clients in both the private and public sector on a wide range of ecology services including protected species surveys.
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Ecology or an Ecology related field
- Natural England Great Crested Newt survey licence
- Natural England roost visitor (conservation) licence or survey (science and education) licence for bats
- Experience of identifying bats using bat detectors and analysing sonograms
- Experience in obtaining Natural England mitigation licences for the purpose of development
- Excellent communication skills to allow effective liaison with planners, developers, professional advisors, contracts, landowners, the general public and others
- Good organisation skills, time management skills and report writing skills.
- A full driving licence valid in the UK
- A capability to be based from either Chelmsford or Ipswich and an ability to travel to client's sites and other offices within the group.
