ECOLOGIST

An opportunity exists for contributing towards biodiversity conservation within the Peak District National Park.

An experienced Ecologist competent in site survey, evaluation and management is required to help further the National Park Authority’s nature conservation objectives by providing ecological advice in response to consultations such as planning applications, agri-environment scheme applications; advice on management of Authority-owned land; and to help develop and implement biodiversity projects. This is a part-time (22.2 hours/week) temporary maternity cover post.

Applicants must be competent ecologists with at least 2 year’s experience of work in nature conservation, an understanding of biological data interpretation and management and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of partners. A good degree is necessary, ideally in Ecology or a related subject.
